Por ello, el objetivo de este trabajo consistió en evaluar la viabilidad de producir aceite refinado de maíz a partir del germen residuo del proceso productivo de la UEB Glucosa Cienfuegos. Mediante una simulación en el software Aspen HYSYS se estimó que se pueden obtener aproximadamente 1022 L de aceite refinado/día generando 151,2 kg/día de jabones como co-producto. Para la implementación de la tecnología se requiere en promedio una inversión inicial de 2,04 millones de dólares y el período de recuperación más probable es de 4,8 años. El nivel de riesgo de la inversión es considerado como medio y de manera general se identificó que el factor que más atenta contra la viabilidad de la propuesta es el bajo flujo de producción actual. Sin embargo, la implementación de la propuesta tecnológica puede contribuir a lograr una mayor seguridad alimentaria en el territorio y a mayores beneficios en la empresa pues permite obtener un producto con gran demanda social a partir de la valorización de un residuo. Además, el co-producto obtenido favorece la diversificación del surtido de la empresa y el encadenamiento productivo con otras industrias del territorio nacional.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT At present, vegetable oils are among the products most demanded by the Cuban population, which is why it is of great importance to analyze the potentials for their production in the national territory. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the viability of producing refined corn oil from the residual germ of the production process of the UEB Glucose Cienfuegos. Through a simulation in the software Aspen HYSYS, it was estimated that approximately 1022 L of refined oil / day can be obtained, generating 151,2 kg / day of soaps as a co-product. An average initial investment of $ 2,04 million is required to implement the technology and the most likely payback period is 4,8 years. The risk level of the investment is considered medium and in general it was identified that the current low production flow is the factor that most threatens the viability of the proposal. However, the implementation of the technological proposal can contribute to achieving greater food security in the territory and greater benefits in the company since it allows obtaining a product with great social demand from the recovery of a waste. In addition, the co-product obtained favors the diversification of the company's assortment and the productive linkage with other industries in the national territory.]]></p></abstract>
