El objetivo es valorar la significación y emergencia de la analítica del aprendizaje en el ámbito de las ciencias de la educación y su posible contribución a la calidad del desempeño del personal docente. Se fija una comprensión conceptual acerca de la analítica del aprendizaje y se reflexiona sobre la amplitud de los beneficios vinculadas a las ciencias de la educación, las aplicaciones y recursos que auxilian la educación, el aprendizaje, así como las nuevas oportunidades para la mejora del desempeño del personal docente. También se identifican los desafíos más significativos a tomar en cuenta en el manejo de la analítica del aprendizaje con finalidades científico-investigativas y educacionales. Se emplean métodos propios del nivel teórico del conocimiento que permiten ubicar, clasificar, procesar, sistematizar y elaborar el nuevo conocimiento. Como conclusión se refuerza la urgencia de la actualización del personal docente dirigida a tres aspectos: primero, los contenidos de la disciplina que imparte; segundo, el contenido de las ciencias de la educación; y tercero, el desarrollo de las competencias digitales necesarias en su labor profesional de forma sistemática.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Learning analytics and its emergence in the contemporary educational context are addressed. The objective is to assess the significance and emergence of learning analytics in the field of educational sciences and its possible contribution to the quality of the performance of teaching staff. A conceptual understanding of learning analytics is established and a reflection is made on the breadth of benefits linked to educational sciences, the applications and resources that aid education, learning, as well as new opportunities for performance improvement of the teaching staff. The most significant challenges to take into account in the management of learning analytics for scientific-research and educational purposes are also identified. Methods of the theoretical level of knowledge are used that allow to locate, classify, process, systematize and elaborate the new knowledge. As a conclusion, the urgency of updating the teaching staff directed at three aspects is reinforced: first, the contents of the discipline it teaches; second, the content of educational sciences; and third, the development of the digital skills necessary in their professional work in a systematic way.]]></p></abstract>
