Así, los servicios que se relacionan directamente con el turismo, han orientado su oferta considerando tal distanciamiento, en hoteles, restaurantes y en el transporte terrestre de pasajeros. Una alternativa en este contexto para la transportación segura, es la aérea, que no es ofrecida en todas las provincias del Ecuador. El objetivo de este estudio es determinar la realidad y tendencia de la demanda turística de la ciudad de Chimborazo, Ecuador, para fortalecer los criterios y orientar una acertada toma de decisiones, a partir de la caracterización de infraestructura y operativa del aeropuerto ubicado en la ciudad de Riobamba. Se aplicó el método empírico analítico, con análisis estadístico multivariado respecto a la existencia de la demanda. Se concluye que la infraestructura cuenta con las condiciones en cuanto a dimensiones y espacio para el desarrollo de decolada y aterrizaje de aviones, sin embargo, es necesario incluir infraestructura para la operación en ventas de tiquetes aéreos en counters de las agencias de viajes o de las aerolíneas, salas de espera, supermercado y demás facilidades.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The confinement resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic has made it necessary to distance ourselves from others in order to avoid contagion. Thus, services directly related to tourism have adapted their offerings to consider such distancing, in hotels, restaurants and passenger ground transportation. An alternative in this context for safe transportation is air transportation, which is not offered in all provinces of Ecuador. The objective of this study is to determine the real conditions and trends of tourism demand in the city of Chimborazo, Ecuador, in order to strengthen criteria and guide sound decision making, based on the characterization of the infrastructure and operations of the airport located in the city of Riobamba. The empirical analytical method was applied, with multivariate statistical analysis regarding the existence of demand. It is concluded that the infrastructure has the conditions in terms of dimensions and space for the development of decolada and landing of airplanes, however, it is necessary to include infrastructure for the operation in sales of air tickets in counters of travel agencies or airlines, waiting rooms, supermarket and other facilities.]]></p></abstract>
