En esta investigación se analiza el nivel de dominio que tienen los estudiantes para integrar las TIC en su propio aprendizaje. Se definió como objetivo de la investigación comprobar el grado de relación entre el nivel de dominio del uso de las TIC y el rendimiento académico en los estudiantes universitarios del centro sur del Perú. Se siguió una metodología cuantitativa, diseño no experimental transeccional, aplicada y de corte transversal. Se desarrolló un muestreo no probabilístico donde participaron 300 estudiantes de 5 universidades. Para medir el dominio del uso de las TIC y su relación con el rendimiento académico se utilizó un cuestionario con escalas tipo Likert. Los resultados evidenciaron una correlación significativa entre el nivel de dominio del uso de las TIC y rendimiento académico pues el valor del p-valor (0.000) &lt;0.05 y el coeficiente de correlación de spearman fue de 0.652 siendo la correlación altamente significativa y de tipo positiva (directa) considerable. Los resultados expresan que un mejor uso de las TIC aumentaría el rendimiento académico en los estudiantes universitarios, por lo cual se desarrolló una estrategia para mejorar el nivel de domino de uso de las TIC que contribuye a aumentar el rendimiento académico en los estudiantes universitarios. Se concluye que existe relación entre el uso de las TIC con el rendimiento académico.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) as part of the teaching and learning process of university students is increasingly frequent. This research analyzes the level of mastery that students have to integrate ICT in their own learning. The objective of the research was defined to verify the degree of relationship between the level of proficiency in the use of ICT and academic performance in university students from south-central Peru. A quantitative methodology was followed, transectional, applied and cross-sectional non-experimental design. A non-probabilistic sampling was developed where 300 students from 5 universities participated. To measure mastery of the use of ICT and its relationship with academic performance, a questionnaire with Likert-type scales was used. The results showed a significant correlation between the level of proficiency in the use of ICT and academic performance since the value of the p-value (0.000) &lt;0.05 and the spearman correlation coefficient was 0.652, the correlation being highly significant and positive. The results express that a better use of ICT would increase academic performance in university students, for which a strategy was developed to improve the level of mastery of the use of ICT that contributes to increasing academic performance in university students. It is concluded that there is a relationship between the use of ICT with academic performance.]]></p></abstract>
