El objetivo de este estudio es realizar la correlación entre el funcionamiento social y la autorregulación emocional en estudiantes de Derecho de la Universidad Estatal Península de Santa Elena, Ecuador. El estudio es descriptivo y correlacional, desde una metodología mixta, y la muestra está formada por 106 estudiantes, de los cuales el 62,3% son mujeres y el 37,7% son hombres, con edades comprendidas entre los 18 y 58 años (M=25,15; DT=8,13). Los resultados estadísticos descriptivos revelan que la autorregulación tiene una media de 20,42 (DT = 4,18), indicando un nivel moderado, mientras que el funcionamiento social presenta una media de 17,80 (DT = 4,81), evidenciando variabilidad en esta dimensión. En cuanto a las puntuaciones típicas (PT) en las subescalas de la Escala de Funcionamiento Social (SFS), se observa que el Aislamiento tiene una PT media de 109,32 (DT = 11,01), mostrando diversidad en las experiencias de aislamiento. En el análisis por género, se observan similitudes en las puntuaciones de aislamiento, comunicación, autonomía ejecución y empleo entre hombres y mujeres. Las principales conclusiones muestran que existe una correlación alta entre las áreas de funcionamiento social y la autorregulación emocional en estos sujetos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT One of the social strata most in need of emotional self-regulation is young people, due to the characteristics of psychological development that express more reaction to difficulties and conflicts than self-control and situational analysis, which places them in a vulnerable situation in the face of constant stress social changes. The objective of this study is to carry out the correlation between social functioning and emotional self-regulation in law students at the Peninsula State University of Santa Elena, Ecuador. The study is descriptive and correlational, from a mixed methodology, and the sample is made up of 106 students, of which 62.3% are women and 37.7% are men, aged between 18 and 58 years (M=25.15; SD=8.13). The descriptive statistical results reveal that self-regulation has a mean of 20.42 (SD = 4.18), indicating a moderate level, while social functioning has a mean of 17.80 (SD = 4.81), evidencing variability in this dimension. Regarding the typical scores (PT) in the subscales of the Social Functioning Scale (SFS), it is observed that Isolation has an average PT of 109.32 (SD = 11.01), showing diversity in isolation experiences. In the analysis by gender, similarities are observed in the isolation, communication, autonomy, execution and employment scores between men and women. The main conclusions show that there is a high correlation between the areas of social functioning and emotional self-regulation in these subjects.]]></p></abstract>
