As a result, he synthesized a series of new compounds, such as camphor ethylide and its series, acetyl, methyl, ethyl and amyl camphor, campholic acid, camphocarbonic acid, camphic acid, etc. He also investigated the transformation of amines into amides by the reaction between a primary or secondary amine with a compound ester. Together with Lauth they developed a very cheap process for preparing the dye magenta. Baubigny used an improved sulfate procedure for determining the equivalent value of copper, zinc, nickel, aluminum, and chromium. Together with Péchard he studied the phenomenon of efflorescence and found that the result of the phenomenon varied if the hydrate had been crystallized from a neutral or an acid medium. Baubigny also studied the synthesis and properties of dithionates, as well as methods for the quantitative analysis of mixtures of halogens.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Henry Baubigny (1842-1913) fue un químico francés que estudió en detalle la conversión entre el alcanfor y el borneo y la preparación y propiedades de sus derivados (oxigenados y no oxigenados). Como resultado, sintetizó una serie de compuestos nuevos, entre ellos, el etilido de alcanfor y su serie acetil, metilo, etilo, y amilo alcanfor, los ácidos alcanfólico, alcanfo-carbónico, alcánfico, etc. También investigó la transformación de las aminas en amidas por la reacción entre una amina primaria o secundaria con un éster compuesto. Junto con Lauth desarrollaron un proceso muy barato para sintetizar la magenta, Baubigny usó un proceso mejorado de sulfato para determinar el vapor equivalente del cobre, zinc, níquel, aluminio, y el cromo. Junto con Péchard estudió el fenómeno de la eflorescencia and encontró que el resultado del fenómeno dependía de si el hidrato había sido cristalizado de un medio neutro o ácido.
