Se dice que es fuente de aceite vegetal de gran rendimiento por hectárea con un alto contenido de ácidos grasos. Se desconocía la caracterización del aceite de semillas de Moringa de los ecotipos en estudio y las posibilidades de uso con diferentes fines.  Objetivo: Realizar la caracterización físico-químicas del aceite de las semillas de Moringa oleífera germinadas en Cuba.  Materiales y Métodos: El porcentaje de extracción de aceite se establece como variable respuesta en los diseños de experimento planteados, alcanzándose entre un 30-45%. Una vez extraído el aceite se determinaron las propiedades físico-químicas del mismo para los ecotipos estudiados haciendo uso de técnicas analíticas.  Resultados y Discusión:  Se obtienen las propiedades que caracterizan los aceites y la composición de ácidos grasos, siendo el producto mayoritario el ácido oleico con valores entre 60 y 75%. Se hace referencia a los beneficios que se obtienen con el uso de semillas no aptas para germinación en diferentes aplicaciones, con propiedades comparables a las frescas.  Conclusiones:  Los mejores rendimientos en la extracción del aceite se alcanzan con hexano como disolvente; el ácido oleico es el mayoritario con valores entre 60 y 75% y los ecotipos estudiados naturalizados en Cuba cumplen con los parámetros de calidad establecidos para ser utilizados en cosmética, constituyéndose una nueva línea de productos que propicia la sustitución de importaciones y el uso de sustancias naturales.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  Introduction: Moringa oleífera is used as raw material in different industries; one of the usable parts of the tree is the seed. It is said to be source of vegetable oil with a great yield per hectare and high content of fatty acids. It is not knew the characterizing of Moringa seed oil from Cuban ecotypes under study and its possibilities of use for different purposes.  Objective:  To carry out the physicochemical characterization of the oil of the seeds of Moringa oleífera germinated in Cuba.  Materials and Methods:  The percentage of oil extraction is established as a response variable in the proposed experiment designs, reaching between 30-40%. Once the oil was extracted, its physicochemical properties were determined for the ecotypes studied using analytical techniques.  Results and Discussion:  The properties that characterize the oils and the fatty acid composition, the majority product being oleic acid with values between 60 and 75%. Reference is made to the benefits obtained with the use of seeds not suitable for germination in different applications, with properties comparable to fresh.  Conclusions:  The best yields in oil extraction are achieved using hexane as a solvent, oleic acid is the majority with values between 60 and 75% and the ecotypes studied naturalized in Cuba meet the quality parameters established to be used in cosmetics, constituting a new product line, in addition to promoting the substitution of imports and the use of natural substances.]]></p></abstract>
