Objetivo: Diseñar estrategias para el mejoramiento en el desempeño del proceso de mantenimiento, en la UEB Derivados &#8220;Heriberto Duquesne&#8221;.  Materiales y Métodos: Los métodos y herramientas principales utilizados en la investigación, enfocados al área de Mantenimiento, son los siguientes: cuestionarios o listas de chequeo, revisión documental, dinámicas grupales, matriz ERIC, mapa estratégico.  Resultados y Discusión: El resultado principal de la investigación es el procedimiento propuesto, el cual integra un grupo de técnicas y herramientas, científicamente argumentadas, con el fin de definir estrategias enfocadas al perfeccionamiento de la Gestión del mantenimiento, que den respuesta a los cambios deseados en la entidad objeto de estudio práctico, en busca del mejoramiento de sus resultados.  Conclusiones: La aplicación práctica de la propuesta permitió identificar, a partir de las exigencias para el área de mantenimiento según la estrategia empresarial y las necesidades y expectativas de las partes interesadas, el objetivo estratégico, los factores clave de éxito para el logro del objetivo, indicadores a utilizar en las condiciones concretas del objeto de estudio,]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  Introduction: Tools application to carry out strategic planning in maintenance process, is still insufficient in most of the Cuban sugar mills and derivatives factories.  Objective: To design strategies to improve the maintenance process performance in the "UEB Derivados Heriberto Duquesne".  Materials and Methods: The main methods and tools used in this research, are focused on the Maintenance area. They are: questionnaires or checklists, documentary review, group dynamics, ERIC matrix, strategic map.  Results and Discussion: The main result of this research is the proposed procedure. It integrates a group of techniques and tools, scientifically argued, in order to define strategies focused on the improvement of maintenance management. This procedure responds to the desired changes in the object of practical study entity, searching its results improvement.  Conclusions: With practical application of proposal made it possible to identify some aspects, based on requirements for the maintenance area according to business strategy and interested parties needs and expectations. They are the strategic objective and the key success factors objective achievement, these indicators are used in the specific conditions of study object.]]></p></abstract>
