En el presente trabajo se llevó a cabo un estudio fitoquímico preliminar de la savia del tronco de la especie Dendropanax arboreus (L) Decne &amp; Planch, que fue recolectada en el poblado de las Minas, Baracoa, Guantánamo. Se elaboraron seis extractos, los cuales fueron obtenidos por diferentes métodos: maceración y extracción con Soxhlet, empleando disolventes de distintas polaridades. Se evaluó la capacidad extractiva de los mismos teniendo en cuenta los valores de sólidos totales y la composición química cualitativa, aplicando la técnica de tamizaje fitoquímico. El método de mayor capacidad extractiva resultó ser la extracción con Soxhlet; siendo el agua el disolvente de elección. Se evidenció generalmente la presencia de alcaloides, flavonoides, triterpenos, esteroides, fenoles, taninos, saponinas, aminas, aminoácidos, resinas, azúcares reductores y poliurónidos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Nature has a great variety of chemical compounds from different origins, being the medicinal plants the most used by the population. In this paper we carried out a preliminary phytochemical study of the trunk sap of the specie Dendropanax arboreus (L) Decne &amp; Planch, collected at Minas town, Baracoa, Guantánamo. Six extracts were prepared, which were obtained by two extraction methods: continuous extraction and maceration using different solvents of dissimilar polarity order. Extractive capacity of extraction methods was evaluated taking into account the values &#8203;&#8203;of total solids and the qualitative chemistry composition applying the phytochemical screening technique. The method with most extractive capacity was Soxhlet method, being water the selected solvent. Generally, we found the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, triterpenes, steroids, phenols, tannins, saponins, amines, amino acids, resins, reducing sugars, and polyuronides.]]></p></abstract>
