<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2224-54212021000100070&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2224-54212021000100070&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2224-54212021000100070&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Las aguas provenientes de la Cuenca Hidrográfica Guaos-Gascón, localizada en la parte oeste de la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba, son utilizadas como zona de disposición de residuales producto de la actividad humana, afectando su composición natural y aumenta la carga contaminante que llega a la Bahía Santiaguera. Para realizar este estudio entre los meses de febrero y abril del año 2017 se analizaron 24 parámetros físico-químicos y 3 microbiológicos, en ocho estaciones de monitoreo. Los resultados obtenidos se comparan con las Normas Cubanas de agua potable, abasto, pesca y baño, encontrándose que no cumplen con las mismas. Estas corrientes hídricas están afectadas por los gérmenes patógenos: coliformes totales, fecales y E. coli. Se determina el Índice de Calidad para Aguas Superficiales y se compara estadísticamente con estudios anteriores, existiendo diferencias significativas entre los mismos, observándose una disminución temporal, confirmando un aumento en la contaminación.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The waters coming from the Guaos-Gascón Hydrographic Basin, located in the western part of the city of Santiago de Cuba, are used as area of disposition of residual products of the human activity, affecting its natural composition and increasing the pollutant load that reaches Santiaguera Bay. To carry out this study were analyzed 24 physical-chemical and 3 microbiological in eight monitoring stations, between the months of February and April of the year 2017, The results obtained are compared with the Cuban Standards drinking water, supply, fishing and bathing, finding, that they don't fulfill the same ones. These hydraulic currents are affected by pathogenic germs: total coliforms, fecal and E. coli. The Quality Index for Surface Waters is determined and is statistically compared with previous studies, there being differences between them, observing a temporary decrease, confirming an increase in contamination.]]></p></abstract>
