El objetivo del trabajo fue desarrollar una solución inyectable de enrofloxacina 10 % para uso veterinario. Se elaboraron dos formulaciones variando el empleo de solubilizante y cosolventes, para lograr la solubilidad del fármaco y se seleccionó la de mayor estabilidad físico-química y microbiológica. Se realizó estudio de estabilidad a largo plazo a tres lotes pilotos fabricados de la formulación elegida durante 18 meses, así como la estabilidad en uso del producto por 28 días. La variante dos de formulación fue seleccionada por ser la más estable. Todos los lotes cumplieron con las especificaciones de calidad establecidas en las condiciones de almacenamiento propuestas. El producto resultó estable durante 18 meses y 28 días, una vez abierto el frasco a temperatura ambiente y protegido de la luz, en bulbos ámbar de 20 mL, por lo que puede emplearse en medicina veterinaria.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Enrofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone for veterinary use only, with broad-spectrum antimicrobial and mycoplasmicidal action. The objective of the work was to develop an injectable solution of enrofloxacin 10 % for veterinary use. Two formulations were prepared varying the use of solubilizer and cosolvents to achieve the solubility of the drug and the one with the highest physical-chemical and microbiological stability was selected. A long-term stability study was carried out on three pilot lots manufactured with the chosen formulation for 18 months, as well as the stability in use of the product for 28 days. Formulation variant two was selected for being the most stable. All batches met the quality specifications established in the proposed storage conditions. The product is stable for 18 months and 28 days once the bottle is opened at room temperature and protected from light, in 20 mL amber bulbs, so it can be used in veterinary medicine.]]></p></abstract>
