Este trabajo estima el SO2, los NOx y el material particulado emitidos por generadores de vapor de centrales azucareros de la provincia Santiago de Cuba mediante factores de emisión. Los resultados pueden servir de precedente para la futura evaluación de las bioeléctricas. Como resultado se obtuvieron valores de emisión inferiores a los de termoeléctricas y grupos electrógenos pero varios ordenes superior que los de los generadores de vapor convencionales que emplean hidrocarburos como combustible. La verificación de las emisiones con las Emisiones Máximas Admisibles de la NC/TS 803: 2010, para la categoría de Fuentes existentes comprobó que para el MP y los NOx de todas las chimeneas se superan los valores fijados. No obstante, para el SO2 ninguna de las emisiones sobrepasa el máximo legal.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Introduction of bioelectric with bagasse as fuel could solve one of the most important problems at present: atmospheric pollution. This work estimates SO2, NOx and PM emitted by steam boilers from sugar mills in the province of Santiago de Cuba using emission factors as a precedent for the future evaluation of bioelectrics. As a result, lower emission levels were obtained than thermoelectric but several orders higher than those of conventional steam boilers that use hydrocarbons as fuel. Verification of the emissions with the Maximum Permissible Emissions of the NC/TS 803: 2010, for the category of Existing Sources verified that for the MP and the NOx, all the chimneys exceed the fixed values. Nevertheless, for the SO2 none of the emissions exceeds the legal maximum.]]></p></abstract>
