La COVID-19 es un caso de estudio único para responder esta pregunta, por su novedad e impacto a nivel mundial. Este artículo expone lo que puede lograr la ciencia durante las pandemias, sobre la base de 5 tesis que resumen las principales lecciones aprendidas en el enfrentamiento a esta enfermedad durante los años 2020 y 2021 en Cuba.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The question, what can science achieve during pandemics? Is relevant and necessary today. COVID-19 is a unique case study to answer this question, due to its novelty and impact worldwide. This essay aims to expose what science can achieve during pandemics, based on five theses that summarize the main lessons learned in the confrontation with this disease during the years 2020 and 2021 in Cuba.]]></p></abstract>
