Se aborda la necesidad de contar con directivos líderes capaces de encauzar la universidad hacia los procesos de transformaciones para dar respuestas a las demandas más complejas que plantea la sociedad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The paper carries out a critical analysis of the epistemological foundations of the conceptions about leadership in the organizations contributed by different authors. It reveals the consensus in which the leadership is necessary to guide organizations and human resources towards the achievement of the strategic objectives. It covers the need for executives-leaders capable of channeling the university to the processes of transformation to respond to the most complex demands that society poses.]]></p></abstract>
