</abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en">
ABSTRACT The emergence of Covid-19 made possible that the teaching-learning process of English at Universidad de Oriente were implemented mainly on the student´s individual study and self-preparation. In consequence the students put in practice essential resources through the use of the home telephone, mobiles and personal computers in order to strengthen communicative competence, among other competences. The use of the descriptors of the Common European Framework of References for Languages played a great influence in the above mentioned process and the staff from the Languages Center based mainly on the fact that the students could learn independently with very careful guide. Self-preparation through independent work showed encouraging gradual results, mainly in the certification tests. Individual and collaborative learning through activities of different levels of complexity have been reinforced in the students and the staff has also had great outcomes from a diverse dynamics. This work aims at socializing the experiences in the implementation of the English syllabus through the use of the student´s personal, professional and communicative resources. It required the development of interactive lessons in atypical conditions. The use of the hermeneutic and dialectic approach permitted the authors of this work the process of interpretation from the dynamics of observation, comprehension and explanation.
</abstract>
