<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2709-79272022000200241&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2709-79272022000200241&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2709-79272022000200241&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN  Introducción:  los efectos deletéreos de la uremia, de las terapias sustitutivas temporarias y de la medicación inmunosupresora y el accionar sobredimensionado del estrés oxidativo en receptores de trasplante renal acarrean ateroesclerosis acelerada postinjerto.  Objetivo:  relacionar la expresión de indicadores de estrés oxidativo con parámetros laboratorio clínico e inmunosupresores en pacientes con trasplante renal funcionante.  Métodos:  se analizaron un total de 127 muestras: 54 provenientes de pacientes trasplantados atendidos en el Servicio de Nefrología y 73 de individuos supuestamente sanos tomados como control. Se determinó la actividad de enzimas antioxidantes superóxido dismutasa y catalasa, así como las concentraciones de glutatión mediante técnicas espectrofométricas. Las variables hematológicas y hemoquímicas incluyeron hemoglobina, creatinina, ácido úrico y albúmina. Las terapias inmunosupresoras se basaron en combinaciones de prednisona, micofelonato mofetilo®, tacrolimus® y ciclosporina A®. Para las comparaciones y las correlaciones se utilizó el programa estadístico SPSS y se tuvo en cuenta un nivel de significación del 95%.  Resultados:  se evidenció disminución significativa de los tres indicadores de estrés oxidativo en pacientes trasplantados respecto al grupo control. Al comparar las variables de laboratorio clínico con los indicadores de estrés oxidativo en subgrupos de pacientes no se encontraron diferencias significativas. Tampoco hubo diferencias entre combinaciones de inmunosupresores, niveles de creatinina y antioxidantes endógenos.  Conclusiones:  se constató afectación del sistema antioxidante endógeno en pacientes con trasplante renal con independencia del uso de inmunosupresores.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[SUMMARY  Introduction:  the deleterious effects of uremia, temporary renal replacement therapies, immunosuppressive medication and the overdimensioned action of oxidative stress in renal transplant recipients, lead to accelerated post-graft atherosclerosis.  Objective:  to relate the expression of oxidative stress indicators with clinical laboratory and immunosuppressive parameters in patients with functioning renal transplantation.  Methods:  A total of 127 samples were analyzed: 54 from transplanted patients attended in the Nephrology Service and 73 supposedly healthy individuals taken as control. It was determined the activity of antioxidant enzymes; superoxide dismutase, catalase, as well as glutathione concentrations by spectrophotometric techniques. Clinical laboratory variables included; hemoglobin, creatinine, uric acid and albumin. Immunosuppressive therapies were based on combinations of prednisone, mycophelonate mofetil®, tacrolimus® and cyclosporine A®. The statistical program SPSS was used for comparisons and correlations, taking into account a significance level of 95%.  Results:  It was evidenced a significant decrease of the three oxidative stress indicators in transplanted patients. No significant differences were found when comparing clinical laboratory variables with oxidative stress indicators in subgroups of patients. There were also no differences between combinations of inmunosuppressants, creatinine levels and endogenous antioxidants.  Conclusions:  Affectation of endogenous antioxidant system in patients with renal transplant is confirmed, independently of the use of immunosuppressors.]]></p></abstract>
