B.K. Simon &amp; S.W.L. Jacobs con Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit. Se realizaron muestreos del componente herbáceo y del estrato arbóreo; y se estimó la disponibilidad y la composición química en la gramínea, la leguminosa voluble y la leñosa. La disponibilidad de las gramíneas fue elevada en ambas épocas, pero superior (p &lt; 0,001) en la lluviosa (ELL) con respecto a la poco lluviosa (EPLL), con valores de 5 895,2 y 3 763,1 kg de MS/ha/rotación, respectivamente. La disponibilidad de follaje de L. leucocephala fue similar para ambas épocas del año (85,7 y 72,1 kg de MS/ha/rotación para la ELL y la EPLL, respectivamente). La DIVMS96 en M. maximus resultó adecuada (&#8776; 650 g/kg de MS) y similar para las dos épocas del año. La EM mostró valores superiores (p &lt; 0,001) en la ELL (7,8 vs 7,0 MJ/kg de MS). La PB fue superior (p = 0,004) en la EPLL (13,8 vs 11,4 %), mientras que la FDN y la FDA no difirieron entre las épocas. En L. leucocephala la DIVMS96 (p = 0,003), la EM (p = 0,009) y la PB (p = 0,003) fueron superiores en la EPLL con respecto a la ELL (601,5 vs 545,1 g/kg de MS; 7,3 vs 6,8 MJ/kg de MS; 27,9 vs 24,8 %, respectivamente). En Neonotonia wightii (Wight &amp; Arn.) J.A. Lackey todos los indicadores fueron similares para ambas épocas, con una excelente DIVMS96 (641,4-667,2 g/kg de MS) y PB (18,1-20,6 %) y adecuada EM (7,4-7,7 MJ/kg de MS). La asociación de gramíneas mejoradas con L. leucocephala, en condiciones de producción, mostró una elevada disponibilidad de biomasa total y de PB por hectárea; la cual, aun cuando fue superior en la época lluviosa, demostró el potencial de estos sistemas para garantizar una adecuada producción de alimento durante todo el año.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of season on the forage production and nutritional value, in an association of Megathyrsus maximus (Jacq.) B.K. Simon &amp; S.W.L. Jacobs with Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit. The herbaceous component and tree stratum were sampled; and the availability and chemical composition in the grass, twining legume and tree were estimated. The grass availability was high in both seasons, but higher (p &lt; 0,001) in the rainy season (RS) with regards to the dry season (DS), with values of 5 895,2 and 3 763,1 kg DM/ha/rotation, respectively. The availability of L. leucocephala foliage was similar for both seasons (85,7 and 72,1 kg DM/ha/rotation for the RS and DS, respectively). The IVDMD96 in M. maximus was adequate (&#8776; 650 g/kg DM) and similar for both seasons. The ME showed higher values (p &lt; 0,001) in the RS (7,8 vs 7,0 MJ/kg DM).
