Objetivo:  Identificar los efectos de la COVID-19 en la salud sexual y reproductiva en tiempos de pandemia.  Métodos: Se revisaron las bases de datos electrónicas, Google Scholar, Pubmed central, LILACS, BIREME, SciELO Regional, a las cuales se accedieron por medio del buscador web de Google, y se revisó, además, el portal de Infomed. Se identificaron 94 fuentes bibliográficas, de las cuales se excluyeron 45.  Conclusiones:  Los datos sobre el impacto de la COVID-19 en la salud sexual y reproductiva son escasos y aún existen cuestionamientos no esclarecidos en su totalidad. La evidencia sobre la transmisión por semen o heces es contradictoria y no parece transmitirse por las secreciones vaginales, pero la saliva o la intimidad sexual pueden ser fuente de contagio, por lo que se recomienda la necesidad de mantener una conducta sexual responsable. Existe una posibilidad teórica de daño testicular y posible infertilidad después de la infección por SARS-COV-2, para lo cual se necesitan más estudios. La información sobre su posible efecto en el aparato reproductor femenino es insuficiente.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  Introduction:  The pandemic unleashed from the rapid expansion of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and its high contagiousness and the lethality of the COVID-19 disease, which results from it, has had a profound impact on all spheres of human existence, including those related to sexual and reproductive health.  Objective:  Identify the effects of COVID-19 on sexual and reproductive health in times of pandemic.  Methods:  The electronic databases, Google Scholar, Pubmed central, LILACS, BIREME, SciELO Regional, which were accessed through Google search engine were reviewed, and Infomed portal was also reviewed. 94 bibliographic sources were identified, of which 45 were excluded.  Conclusions:  Data on the impact of COVID-19 on sexual and reproductive health are scarce and there are still questions not fully clarified. The evidence on transmission by semen or feces is contradictory and does not seem to be transmitted by vaginal secretions, but saliva or sexual intimacy can be a source of contagion, so the need to maintain responsible sexual behavior is recommended. There is a theoretical possibility of testicular damage and possible infertility after SARS-COV-2 infection, for which further studies are needed. Information on its possible effect on the female reproductive system is insufficient.]]></p></abstract>
