Se realizó un estudio no experimental con componente descriptivo y analítico, con el objetivo de determinar el valor predictivo de las variables tomográficas en el diagnóstico de los astrocitomas cerebrales en 52 pacientes con diagnóstico tomográfico de neoplasia cerebral confirmado por Tomografía Axial Computarizada (TAC) de cráneo atendidos en el Hospital Carlos Manuel de Céspedes de Bayamo en el período comprendido entre enero del 2017 hasta diciembre del 2018. En el presente estudio encontramos que la región más frecuentemente afectada por astrocitomas fue la frontoparietal seguida de la región frontal y temporal. El estudio tomográfico diagnosticó 23 pacientes con el diagnóstico de astrocitomas y 29 como no astrocitomas, se encontró una alta sensibilidad y especificidad, así como valores predictivos positivos y negativos altos. En cuanto a las variables tomográficas evaluadas, el realce de contraste escaso y la hipodensidad tuvieron alta sensibilidad y especificidad, así como sus valores predictivos de lo que resulta que son características útiles en el diagnóstico. El índice de validez calculado tanto en la tomografía como en las variables estudiadas en sentido general aporta alta veracidad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Astrocytomas are brain tumors with a high frequency of occurrence. A non-experimental study with descriptive and analytical component was carried out, with the objective of determining the predictive value of tomographic variables in the diagnosis of cerebral astrocytomas in 52 patients with tomographic diagnosis of cerebral neoplasia confirmed by Computed Axial Tomography (CT) of the skull treated at the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Bayamo Hospital in the period from January 2017 to December 2018. In the present study we found that the region most frequently affected by astrocytomas was the frontoparietal followed by the frontal and temporal region. The tomographic study diagnosed 23 patients with the diagnosis of astrocytomas and 29 as non-astrocytomas, high sensitivity and specificity were found, as well as high positive and negative predictive values. As for the tomographic variables evaluated, the low contrast enhancement and hypodensity had high sensitivity and specificity, as well as their predictive values &#8203;&#8203;of what turns out to be useful characteristics in the diagnosis. The validity index calculated both in the tomography and in the variables studied in a general sense brings high veracity.]]></p></abstract>

Foi realizado um estudo não experimental com componente descritivo e analítico, com o objetivo de determinar o valor preditivo de variáveis &#8203;&#8203;tomográficas no diagnóstico de astrocitomas cerebrais em 52 pacientes com diagnóstico tomográfico de neoplasia cerebral confirmado por Tomografia Computadorizada Axial (TC) do crânio atendidos no Hospital Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Bayamo no período de janeiro de 2017 a dezembro de 2018. No presente estudo, descobrimos que a região mais freqüentemente afetada por astrocitomas era o frontoparietal seguido pela região frontal e temporal. O estudo tomográfico diagnosticou 23 pacientes com diagnóstico de astrocitoma e 29 como não astrocitoma; foram encontradas alta sensibilidade e especificidade, além de altos valores preditivos positivos e negativos. Quanto às variáveis &#8203;&#8203;tomográficas avaliadas, o baixo realce e hipodensidade do contraste apresentaram alta sensibilidade e especificidade, bem como seus valores preditivos do que se mostra como características úteis no diagnóstico.
