Solo quedan medidas tradicionales de salud pública, para prevenir que el virus se continúe esparciendo. Nuestro objetivo es reflexionar sobre estas medidas no farmacológicas, que ya están en marcha en todos los países. Acciones como el lavado frecuente de las manos, la desinfección reiterada de superficies han demostrado ser efectivas, en prevenir la extensión viral. Asimismo, medidas como el aislamiento, cuarentena, el distanciamiento social y la reducción de actividades productivas, excepto las estrictamente esenciales, han contribuido a contener el virus. Se esperaba una respuesta al problema, en el desarrollo de un fármaco o vacuna eficaz, pero a falta de esta la única solución y la más efectiva al momento son, estas medidas no farmacológicas de prevención.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT With the worldwide spread of the SARS Cov-2 virus and without the presence of a specific drug for the treatment or prophylaxis of the disease. Only traditional public health measures remain, to prevent the virus from continuing to spread. Our goal is to reflect on these non-pharmacological measures, which are already in place in all countries. Actions such as frequent hand washing, repeated disinfection of surfaces have proven to be effective in preventing viral spread. Likewise, measures such as isolation, quarantine, social distancing and the reduction of productive activities, except those strictly essential, have contributed to containing the virus. A response to the problem was expected, in the development of an effective drug or vaccine, but in the absence of this the only solution and the most effective at the moment are these non-pharmacological prevention measures.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[RESUMO Com a disseminação mundial do vírus SARS Cov-2 e sem a presença de um medicamento específico para o tratamento ou profilaxia da doença. Restam apenas as medidas tradicionais de saúde pública para evitar que o vírus continue a se espalhar. Nosso objetivo é refletir sobre essas medidas não farmacológicas, que já existem em todos os países. Ações como lavagem frequente das mãos e desinfecção repetida de superfícies têm se mostrado eficazes na prevenção da disseminação viral. Da mesma forma, medidas como isolamento, quarentena, distanciamento social e redução das atividades produtivas, exceto as estritamente essenciais, têm contribuído para a contenção do vírus. Esperava-se uma resposta ao problema no desenvolvimento de um medicamento ou vacina eficaz, mas na ausência desta a única solução e a mais eficaz no momento são essas medidas de prevenção não farmacológicas.]]></p></abstract>
