Por consiguiente, el objetivo del presente trabajo fue evaluar el proceso de digestión anaerobia de vinaza cruda cubana utilizando un sistema combinado de reactores empacados de flujo ascendente (REFA) en serie. Se evaluaron cargas orgánicas volumétricas (COV) en el intervalo de 2 a 10 kgDQO/m3d. Los resultados indican que el sistema REFA + REFA operó establemente a COV de 10 kgDQO/m3d obteniéndose valores promedios de 90% y 1,03 N LCH4/Ld en cuanto a eliminación de la demanda química de oxigeno (DQO) y productividad de metano, respectivamente. Esto representa incrementos promedios de 18 y 15% para estos mismos parámetros con respecto al empleo de una sola configuración anaerobia.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The studies about the viability of the employment of anaerobic combined system for the vinasse treatment, have increased in the last years. Therefore, the objective of present work was to evaluate the anaerobic digestion process of raw vinasse using a combined system of upflow packed reactors (UPR) in series. Organic loading rate (OLR) was evaluated in the range of 2 to 10 kgCOD/m3d. The 10 kgCOD/m3d was selected as the stable operating load, obtaining average values of 90% and 1.03 N LCH4/Ld for the combined system in terms of elimination of COD and productivity of methane, respectively. The above represents average increases of 18 and 15% for these same parameters with respect to the use of a single anaerobic configuration.]]></p></abstract>
