Determinadas localidades de la zona costera de Santiago de Cuba brindan potencialidades para explotar este recurso. El objetivo es presentar un programa implementado en Matlab 2015, para determinar, en función de disimiles velocidades del viento y sus direcciones, los parámetros que caracterizan el comportamiento del oleaje, generar una simulación animada en 3D donde se reproduzca el comportamiento de este y determinar la densidad lineal de potencia, kW/m, tomando los de mayor incidencia en la zona de El Sardinero. Se diseñó el programa "Niord" y se comprobó su precisión por comparación con datos registrados, obteniéndose valores semejantes a los reportados en una estación meteorológica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The waves energy let get electricity from kinetic energy contained in the sea waves. Certain localities of the coastal zone of Santiago de Cuba offer potentialities to exploit this resource. The objective is to present a software implemented in Matlab 2015, to determine, based on dissimilar wind speeds and directions, the parameters that characterize wave behavior, generate a 3D animated simulation where the behavior of this is reproduced and determine the Linear power density, kW/m, taking those with the highest incidence in the El Sardinero area. The "Niord" software was designed and its accuracy was verified by comparison with recorded data, obtaining values &#8203;&#8203;similar to those reported in a meteorological station.]]></p></abstract>
