<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1680-03382023000200071&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1680-03382023000200071&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1680-03382023000200071&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Se describe un proyecto de investigación, cuyo objetivo fue reducir la profundidad de socavación al pie de estribos cortos y verticales de puentes, mediante un modelo físico reducido se analizó la profundidad de socavación que genera un flujo de agua, en sistema formado por un estribo de puente corto y vertical y el fondo de arena de un canal del laboratorio de ingeniería hidráulica de la esia unidad zacatenco; al estribo se le cambiaba su geometría en los ensayos (con alerones laterales a 45, 30 y 20º), para determinar experimentalmente su influencia en la erosión local que generó, bajo ciertas condiciones de flujo; y así en base a ensayo-error, reducir la erosión local. Se logró reducir la profundidad de socavación generada por el estribo original en un 98 %.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In this work is described a research project, which central objective was to reduce scouring depth in shorts and vertical abutments of bridges, so in this it was analyzed at trough of a physical model reduced, the scouring depth that generate an water flow in a system performed by a short and vertical abutment of bridge, in a sand channel of hydraulic engineering laboratory of ESIA Zacatenco United, in Mexico; the abutment was modified in his geometry (with wings to 45, 30 y 20º), in order to determine experimentally its influence in local scouring that was generated , with some flow condition; and in the way of essay-error to reduce the local erosion. In this project, the local erosion depth generated by the original abutment was reduced in a 98 %.]]></p></abstract>
