Objetivo  analizar los beneficios del uso del enfoque por tareas para el fortalecimiento de la fluidez en la escritura en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje del idioma inglés en el posgrado de los profesionales de la Salud.  Métodos  investigación pedagógica que incluyó a un grupo de profesionales de la Salud, quienes cursaron el posgrado de idioma inglés en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Sancti Spíritus, durante el curso 2020- 2021. Se empleó la revisión documental, la observación a clases, los grupos de discusión, entrevistas, el análisis de los resultados de exámenes y la triangulación metodológica.  Resultados  la aplicación de diferentes métodos y técnicas corroboró que los profesionales de la Salud presentaron dificultades en la fluidez en la escritura; emplearon demasiado tiempo en revisar las ideas; además de incurrir en repeticiones innecesarias, pobre elaboración sintáctica y redacción de oraciones breves. Se implementó el uso del enfoque por tareas con resultados alentadores.  Conclusión  mediante la valoración cualitativa quedaron evidenciados los beneficios del enfoque por tareas, tras su aplicación en el posgrado de los profesionales de la Salud, al favorecer el fortalecimiento de la fluidez en la escritura del idioma inglés.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  Background  currently there are insufficiencies in strengthening the fluency of the English language, as a foreign language taught in the postgraduate course of Health professionals, since there are limitations in its didactic treatment.  Objective  to analyze the benefits of using the task-based approach to strengthen writing fluency in the English language teaching-learning process in postgraduate Health professionals.  Methods  pedagogical research that included a group of Health professionals, who completed the English language postgraduate course at the Sancti Spíritus University of Medical Sciences, during the 2020-2021 academic year. Documentary review, class observation, discussion groups, interviews and methodological triangulation.  Results  the application of different methods and techniques corroborated that the health professionals presented difficulties in fluency in writing; they spent too much time reviewing ideas; in addition to incurring in unnecessary repetitions, poor syntactic elaboration and writing of short sentences. The use of the task approach was implemented with encouraging results.  Conclusion  through the qualitative assessment, the benefits of the task-based approach were evidenced, after its application in the postgraduate course of Health professionals, by favoring the strengthening of fluency in writing the English language.]]></p></abstract>
