Han ocurrido averías en los motores y generadores así como han ocurrido numerosos disparos innecesarios por averías externas. Utilizando la modelación matemática fueron simuladas las principales averías con los nuevos ajustes propuestos para los relés, con nuevas funciones de protecciones adicionadas en los mismos y las nuevas extrategias de protecciones propuestas. La lógica interna de los relés fueron modificados. En la actualidad el PLC ya no participa en la cadena de disparo por protecciones y ya no todas las averías desconectan el motor sino algunas solo disparan el interruptor de los generadores. Todos estos problemas son los mismos en todos las centrales eléctricas de generación de la misma tecnología MAN instaladas en el país porque los proyectos básicos son identicos y por tanto, esta solución es totalmente aplicable en estas otras centrales.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The electrical protections of Fuel Oil Ariguanabo generator set not working appropriately. Total breakdowns have ocurred in the engines and generators as well as numerous unnecessary protection trips due to external faults. Using mathematical modeling, the main faults were simulated with the new relays settings, in addition new protection functions were added to obtain new proposed protection strategies. The internal logic of the relays were modified. At present the PLC no longer participates in the protections ruth of trips and not all the faults disconnect the engines but some of them trip only the generator circuit breaker. All this problems mencioned are the same in other electrical generator central of the same MAN technology because the original project are identic and there for, this solution are totally applied in those centrals.]]></p></abstract>
