De acuerdo a lo anterior, este trabajo se dirige a su modernización usando tecnología Siemens y Mettler Toledo. Se aborda la sustitución de un controlador lógico programable (PLC por sus siglas en inglés) SattCon15 por un S7-300 y la adición de un panel de operador TP 177B y de dos transmisores M400 T2 para la medición de pH y oxígeno disuelto. Siguiendo un estricto esquema de ejecución por prioridades fueron programadas 23 funciones, cinco lazos de control para las variables principales del proceso y posibilidades de operación manual y automática. Además, se incluye un sistema de mensajes de confirmación al usuario, avisos y alarmas como elementos para brindar una mayor confiabilidad y seguridad al sistema. Se presentan los resultados de crecimiento celular, viabilidad y pureza de varias fermentaciones realizadas, evidenciándose un sistema de control que cumple con las exigencias de la industria biotecnológica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) of Camagüey has a Chemap 75 L bioreactor in the Technological Development Plant, that presents operational di&#64259;culties due to an obsolete control system. The present work shows the modernization of the same using technology Siemens and Mettler Toledo. The substitution of the SattCon15 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) for an S7-300 and the addition of an operator panel TP177B and two M400 T2 transmitters for the measurement of pH and DO are presented. 23 functions are programmed following a strict execution scheme by priorities, &#64257;ve control loops for the variables to be controlled in the process and the possibility of manual and automatic operation. It uses a system of con&#64257;rmation messages to the user, warning messages and alarms as elements to provide greater reliability and security to the system. The cellular growing, viability and purity results of several fermentation performed are presented showing a control system which complies with the biotechnology industry demands.]]></p></abstract>
