El objetivo del artículo es evaluar la situación del etiquetado en una empresa farmacéutica y proponer recomendaciones para mejorar la trazabilidad de los productos a los largo de la cadena de suministros. Se definió una metodología de etiquetado inteligente para mejorar las etiquetas de la Empresa Laboratorio Farmacéutico Ampolletas Inyectables Colirios y Aerosoles (AICA). Para que cada nivel de empaque contenga una etiqueta con un código único estandarizado de identificación, se estudió el sistema de estándares GS1 y se profundizó en el nivel de captura automática, comparando las etiquetas con códigos tradicionales y las tecnologías de las etiquetas inteligentes. Se concluyó que para AICA se recomienda la utilización de Estándares Mundiales Uno (GS1, por sus siglas en inglés) y tecnologías Identificación y Captura Automática de Datos (AIDC, por sus siglas en inglés) en todos los niveles de embalaje.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The smart labels play a fundamental role in the pharmaceutical sector, where the control and traceability of medicines are essential. The objective of this article is to evaluate the labeling situation in a pharmaceutical company and propose recommendations to improve the traceability of products throughout the supply chain. To meet this objective, an intelligent labeling methodology was defined with the aim of proposing an improvement alternative for the labels of the Aica Pharmaceutical Laboratory Company. Each level of packaging must contain a label with a unique standardized code for identification; so the GS1 standards system was studied and the level of automatic capture was deepened; comparing traditional code labels and smart label technologies. As a result, it was concluded that for the case study in Aica, the use of GS1 standards and AIDC technologies is recommended at all levels of packaging.]]></p></abstract>
