Se añade a estos fenómenos la propagación de la pandemia de COVID-19, condiciones de aislamiento e incertidumbre, nuevos retos a profesionales de diversos sectores, entre ellos el educativo, con escasa preparación para atender la salud emocional en este escenario. Por la importancia del tema, se realizó una investigación para comprobar las potencialidades y debilidades de los estudiantes en relación con la inteligencia emocional, así como la presencia de la educación emocional como contenido en el modelo de formación inicial; es una investigación transversal no experimental de tipo descriptiva, mediante un estudio documental, la aplicación de la escala de auto informe Trait Meta Mood Scale-24 y una entrevista grupal; constituyen la muestra seleccionada estudiantes de Licenciatura en Educación, Lenguas Extranjeras, Universidad de Holguín. La aplicación de los instrumentos permitió confirmar que los estudiantes reconocen la importancia de contar con una formación socioemocional y poseen potencialidades para alcanzar tal propósito. Así mismo se verificó que los docentes realizan acciones encaminadas a facilitar esta formación y en el currículo se conciben contenidos que pudieran contribuir al perfeccionamiento de la formación socioemocional, desde una mayor atención a las herramientas prácticas. El análisis de lo que se ha investigado, así como el resultado obtenido, permite sustentar alternativas para mejorar la preparación de estos profesionales.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ Abstract The current context, characterized by economic and migratory crises, has resulted in damage to the emotional health of human beings; added to these phenomenon is the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, conditions of isolation and uncertainty, new challenges for professionals from various areas, including education, with little preparation to attend to emotional health in this context. With the aim of exploring the potentialities lying in the students of the bachelor in education to accomplish the desired levels of training, this investigation was carried out. This is a mixed, cross-sectional, non-experimental and descriptive research. Its objective is to describe the socio-emotional variable which led to the checking of documents, the application of the self-report scale Trait Meta Mood Scale -24 and a group interview. The sample selected is made up of 17 students from the Bachelor in Education, English as a Foreign Language Major at Holguín University. The results obtained regarding the way students perceive themselves, according to the elements that integrate emotional intelligence, were mainly positive. It was confirmed the existence, in the country, of several investigations that deal with the socio-emotional formation of the education professionals, being the aforementioned investigations referential for the designing of actions towards the training of such professionals in the facing of the psychological repercussions of months in isolation.]]></p></abstract>
