Random samples of six local forage species were collected: Tithonia diversifolia, Trichantera gigantea, Piptocoma discolor, Clitoria fairchildiana, Hibiscus rosa - sinensis and Solanum rugosum, with regrowth age of sixty days. The bromatological characterization was performed by NIRS spectroscopy and the content of anti-nutritional factors was qualitatively determined. For the statistical analysis, the statisticians, mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation were taken into account. Piptocoma discolor highlighted for its high quality, since it showed the highest digestibility percentage (74.71) and higher protein values (21.52 %) and energy content (10.26 Mj/kg DM) with respect to the rest of the species. It was followed by Trichantera gigantea, with a digestibility percentage of 68.99; protein values of 20.34 % and energy content of 9.63 ME (Mj/kg DM). The Hibiscus rosa-sinensis species showed the lowest values of NDF (34.47 %) and ADF (17.13 %) and higher total starch content (3.31 %). In the mineral composition, the values of Zn and Cu for the tree Trichantera gigantea and the amount of Ca and P for Tithonia diversifolia were higher than the other forage plants. According to the characterization of the shrubs, it is concluded that the species Piptocoma discolor, Trichantera gigantea and Hibiscus rosa - sinensi have an adequate content of protein, energy and digestibility. The species Tithonia diversifolia, Clitoria fairchildiana, and Solanum rugosum have an appropriate mineral content and a moderate content of secondary metabolites. All have acceptable levels of nutritional components that make possible their use in animal feeding.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Se realizó la caracterización nutritiva de arbóreas del pie de monte amazónico, en el departamento del Putumayo, Colombia. Se recolectaron muestras aleatorias de seis especies forrajeras locales: Tithonia diversifolia,, Trichantera gigantea, Piptocoma discolor, Clitoria fairchildiana, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis y Solanum rugosum, con edad de rebrote de sesenta días. Se hizo la caracterización bromatológica por espectroscopia NIRS y se determinó cualitativamente el contenido de factores anti-nutricionales. Para el análisis estadístico se tuvieron en cuenta los estadígrafos media, desviación típica y coeficiente de variación. Piptocoma discolor sobresalió por su alta calidad, ya que presentó el porcentaje de digestibilidad más alto (74.71), y superiores valores de proteína (21.52 %) y contenido energético (10.26 Mj/kg MS) con respecto al resto de las especies. Le siguió Trichantera gigantea, con porcentaje de digestibilidad de 68.99; valores de proteína de 20.34 % y contenido energético de 9.63 EM (Mj/kg MS). La especie Hibiscus rosa-sinensis mostró los menores valores de FDN (34.47%) y FDA (17.13%) y mayor contenido de almidones totales (3.31%). En la composición mineral, los valores de Zn y Cu para la arbórea Trichantera gigantea y la cantidad de Ca y P para la Tithonia diversifolia fueron superiores en relación con las otras forrajeras. De acuerdo con la caracterización de las arbustivas, se concluye que las especies Piptocoma discolor, Trichantera gigantea e Hibiscus rosa-sinensi poseen un adecuado contenido de proteína, energía y digestibilidad. Las especies Tithonia diversifolia, Clitoria fairchildiana y Solanum rugosum tienen contenido apropiado de minerales y moderado contenido de metabolitos secundarios. Todas presentan niveles aceptables de componentes nutricionales que posibilitan su uso en alimentación animal.]]></p></abstract>
