A total of 140 animals were distributed in four treatments, according to a completely randomized design, for 10 weeks. Seven repetitions per treatment and five birds per repetition were established. The treatments consisted of a control diet and the inclusion of 10, 15 and 20 % of dry distillery grains with solubles. The inclusion of 0 and 10 % promoted (P &lt;0.05) laying intensity and mass conversion with respect to 15 and 20 %. In addition, diets with dry distillery grains with solubles increased (P &lt;0.05) food intake, nutrients and metabolizable energy, as well as shell thickness and yolk color (P &lt;0.05), without notable changes (P&gt; 0.05) for albumen height, Haugh unit and resistance to shell rupture. It is recommended the inclusion of 10 % of dry distillery grains with solubles in partial substitution of corn and soybean meal in diets intended for Hy-line Brown® laying hens.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Se evaluó el efecto de cuatro niveles de inclusión de granos secos de destilería con solubles en el desempeño productivo y la calidad del huevo de gallinas ponedoras Hy-line Brown®. Un total de 140 aves se distribuyeron, según diseño completamente al azar durante 10 semanas, en cuatro tratamientos. Se establecieron siete repeticiones por tratamiento y cinco aves por repetición. Los tratamientos consistieron en una dieta control y la inclusión de 10, 15 y 20 % de granos secos de destilería con solubles. La inclusión de 0 y 10 % promovió (P &lt; 0.05) la intensidad de puesta y la conversión masal con respecto al 15 y 20 %. Además, las dietas con granos secos de destilería con solubles incrementaron (P &lt; 0.05) el consumo de alimentos, nutrientes y energía metabolizable, así como el grosor de la cáscara y el color de la yema (P &lt; 0.05), sin cambios notables (P &gt; 0.05) para la altura del albumen, unidad Haugh y resistencia a la ruptura de la cáscara. Se recomienda la inclusión de 10 % de granos secos de destilería con solubles en sustituciòn parcial de la harina de maíz y de soya en dietas destinadas a gallinas ponedoras Hy-line Brown®.]]></p></abstract>
