Viability of hens was higher than 96 %, which shows that these treatments had no negative effects on health. Feed intake was not affected by the product. However, at 84 d, feed conversion (P=0.0003) and liveweight (P=0.0008) improved with respect to the group in which it was not included. From day 1 to 126, only differences were found between the 2 % treatment and the untreated group for feed conversion (4.51 vs. 4.76, P=0.0245) and liveweight (1419 vs. 1349, P=0.0360). Mean liveweight of the batch, in each stage, had a coefficient of variation lower than 8, which corresponds to a uniformity superior to 90 %, which indicates that it was good. No effect of treatment on ovary and oviduct development was found. Dry fermented ruminal liquor improved liveweight and feed conversion of replacement layers with high viability and uniformity. Results suggest the use of this product up to 3 % in the diet of this poultry category.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Se utilizaron 840 aves, desde 1 hasta 126 días de edad, distribuidas aleatoriamente en cuatro tratamientos experimentales, para evaluar el efecto en el comportamiento productivo, al incluir en la dieta 0, 1, 2 y 3 % del líquido ruminal fermentado seco. La viabilidad de las aves fue superior a 96 %, lo que evidencia que dichos tratamientos no tuvieron efectos negativos en la salud. El producto no influyó en el consumo de alimento. Sin embargo, a los 84 d mejoró la conversión alimentaria (P=0.0003) y el peso vivo (P=0.0008) con respecto al grupo en el que no se incluyó. Desde el día 1 hasta el 126, solo se hallaron diferencias entre el tratamiento con 2 % y el grupo sin tratar para la conversión alimentaria (4.51 vs 4.76, P=0.0245) y el peso vivo (1419 vs 1349, P=0.0360). El peso vivo promedio del lote en cada etapa tuvo un coeficiente de variación inferior a 8, que se corresponde con una uniformidad superior al 90 %, lo que indica que fue buena. No se halló efecto del tratamiento en el desarrollo del ovario y el oviducto. El líquido ruminal fermentado seco mejoró el peso vivo y la conversión alimentaria del reemplazo de ponedoras con alta viabilidad y uniformidad. Los resultados permiten sugerir la utilización de este producto hasta 3 % en la dieta de esta categoría avícola.]]></p></abstract>
