El presente trabajo se basó en la construcción de un sistema experto para el diagnóstico de plagas y enfermedades en plantas ornamentales, con el objetivo de ayudar a los usuarios no expertos y facilitar el análisis temprano. Para efectos de esta investigación se asumió una investigación descriptiva para la revisión documental y un enfoque cuantitativo con el método de entrevista y encuesta para determinar necesidades en la determinación de las características de enfermedades y plagas. Para el desarrollo del sistema experto se siguieron las etapas de la metodología ideal, y se utilizaron las herramientas de ATOM, interfaz editor de código multiplataforma; PhpMyAdmin, gestor de bases de datos MySQL y para la aplicación se utilizó código PHP y HTML. Los resultados demostraron que el sistema experto fue capaz de diagnosticar 17 enfermedades generales, 4 enfermedades específicas y 11 plagas en las rosas, clavel, orquídea y tulipán; así también permitió validar y comparar los diagnósticos realizados por un experto humano con los del sistema experto. En consecuencia, se puede decir que disponer de un sistema experto para el diagnóstico de plagas y enfermedades, disminuye el tiempo y ayuda al usuario no experto en el diagnóstico oportuno y tratamiento acertado.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The diagnosis of pests and diseases in different crops has been and is the greatest challenge for farmers and floriculturists in the country, as well as the application of artificial intelligence in the early analysis of these. The present work was based on the construction of an expert system for the diagnosis of pests and diseases in ornamental plants, with the objective of helping non-expert users and facilitating early analysis. For the purposes of this research, a descriptive research was assumed for the documentary review and a quantitative approach with the interview and survey method to determine needs in the determination of the characteristics of diseases and pests. For the development of the expert system, the stages of the ideal methodology were followed, and the ATOM tools were used, multiplatform code editor interface; PhpMyAdmin, MySQL database manager and PHP and HTML code were used for the application. The results showed that the expert system was able to diagnose 17 general diseases, 4 specific diseases and 11 pests in roses, carnation, orchid and tulip; it also allowed to validate and compare the diagnoses made by a human expert with those of the expert system. Consequently, it can be said that having an expert system for the diagnosis of pests and diseases reduces time and helps the non-expert user in the timely diagnosis and accurate treatment.]]></p></abstract>
