ICARE incluye cinco elementos esenciales de una buena experiencia de aprendizaje: Introducción, Conexión, Aplicación, Reflexión y Extensión. Esta investigación involucró a una población de 72 estudiantes en el año académico 2021. La muestra se dividió en una clase experimental y una clase de control, cada una con 36 estudiantes. Se utilizó la técnica de muestreo aleatorio por grupos para seleccionar la muestra. El instrumento utilizado en esta investigación es el test de escritura Se realizaron pruebas T de comparación de medias para verificar las diferencias significativas entre las calificaciones de ambos grupos y pruebas de Chi-cuadrado de Pearson y de Razón de Verosimilitud para verificar la relación entre la variable grupo y las categorías evaluativas. Los resultados de la investigación revelaron que el uso del ICARE contribuyó a desarrollar la habilidad de escritura del idioma inglés de los estudiantes.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This research analyzed the results of the application of the ICARE Model for the development of writing skills in students of the first year of the Chemical Engineering career at the University Universidad ¨ Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo ¨. ICARE includes five essential elements of a good learning experience: Introduction, Connection, Application, Reflection, and Extension. This research involved a population of 72 students in the 2021 academic year. The sample was divided into an experimental class and a control class, each with 36 students. Cluster random sampling technique was used to select the sample. The instrument used in this research is the writing test. T-tests for comparison of means were performed to verify the significant differences between the grades of both groups and Pearson's Chi-square and Likelihood Ratio tests to verify the relationship between the group variable and the evaluative categories. The results of the research revealed that the use of ICARE contributed to the development of students' English language writing skills.]]></p></abstract>
