<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2218-36202022000100416&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2218-36202022000100416&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2218-36202022000100416&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN La docencia escolar en educación física, es uno de los protagonistas de la orientación alimentaria del niño, por ello el objetivo general de esta investigación es determinar la relación entre alimentos y bebidas ultra procesados y el sobrepeso en escolares de 8 a 11 años de escuelas rurales del sector de Milagro en el Ecuador. La metodología que se propuso fue cuasiexperimental, con corte transversal y una muestra de 504 participantes de escuelas públicas del área urbana y rural, se utilizó el cuestionario sobre consumo, hábitos y prácticas de alimentarias. Los resultados demostraron que el sobrepeso alcanza el 50% de la población estudiantil tanto en lo rural como en lo urbano y que el hombre tiende a tener mayor cantidad de sobrepeso, pero se presenta más esta diferencia en el área rural. En cuanto a la relación con alimentos y bebidas, se encontró que la mitad de los niños y niñas que tenían pesos y tallas normales, consumían casi que las mismas cantidades de productos ultra procesados que aquellos con sobre peso y obesidad, por lo tanto, se debería recomendar hacer siguientes investigaciones, para conocer, que es lo que los diferencia para no descartar que sean estos productos los que causan el desorden metabólico.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT School teaching in physical education is one of the protagonists of the child's nutritional orientation, therefore the general objective of this research is to determine the relationship between ultra-processed foods and beverages and overweight in schoolchildren aged 8 to 11 in rural schools of the Milagro sector in Ecuador. The proposed methodology was quasi-experimental, with a cross-sectional section and a sample of 504 participants from public schools in urban and rural areas. The questionnaire on food consumption, habits and practices was used. The results showed that overweight reaches 50% of the student population both in rural and urban areas and that men tend to be more overweight, but this difference is more present in rural areas. Regarding the relationship with food and beverages, it was found that half of the boys and girls who had normal weights and sizes, consumed almost the same amounts of ultra-processed products as those with overweight and obesity, therefore, I should recommend doing the following research, to know what differentiates them so as not to rule out that these products are the ones that cause metabolic disorder.]]></p></abstract>
