He proved that the essence of chamomile was a mixture of several esters, mainly butyl and amyl valerate and angelate, and not a mixture of aldehydes. He studied the compounds of nitrogen and sulfur, among them the nitrogen sulfide chlorosulfates, and described their properties. Developed an apparatus for determining the spectrum of rare earths and radioactive elements based on the spark produced by an induction coil provided with a short and thick platinum wire, and used it propose a method for their separation by fractionation. He also determined the presence of molybdenum and vanadium in vegetables, etc.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Eugène Anatole Demarçay (1852-1904), químico francés que descubrió el elemento europio e identificó la presencia de radio en una mezcla radioactiva proporcionada por Marie y Pierre Curie; sintetizó una serie de derivados orgánicos del titanio y del estaño, entre ellos los resultantes de la reacción del cloruro de titanio con una variedad de ésteres de mono ácidos orgánicos. Demostró que la esencia de manzanilla era una mezcla de varios ésteres, en particular, butilo y amilo valerato y angelato, y no una mezcla de aldehidos. Estudió los compuestos de nitrógeno y azufre, entre ellos los sulfito-clorosulfatos de nitrógeno, y describió sus propiedades. Diseño un aparato para determinar el espectro de las tierras raras y los elementos radioactivos, basado en la descarga producida por una bobina de inducción dotada de un alambre corto y grueso de platino, y lo usó para desarrollar un método para su separación fraccionada.
