La semilla posee un aceite natural de alta calidad, por su contenido de ácido behénico, oleico y el bajo nivel de poliinsaturados se convierte en una base excelente para la industria cosmética. La cáscara que se desecha es rica en elementos, que estas partículas incluidas en el cosmético, &#8220;rascarán&#8221; eliminan la capa de células muertas formada.  Objetivo: Elaborar un nuevo producto cosmético con características exfoliantes empleando el aceite y la cáscara de las semillas de Moringa oleífera ecotipo Plain.  Materiales y Métodos: En el trabajo se realiza la extracción del aceite de semillas de Moringa ecotipo Plain por vía mecánica. Se determinan los principales índices de un aceite vegetal, así como su composición de ácidos grasos. A la cáscara se le determina su composición utilizando métodos cuantitativos.  Resultados y Discusión: Se obtuvo aceite de semillas de Moringa oleífera ecotipo Plain con un rendimiento de 23% en base a la masa de semilla seca. Se determinaron los índices que caracterizan a un aceite vegetal con valores similares a los reportados. Se caracteriza la cáscara y se elabora la crema exfoliante con la cáscara y aceite de las semillas. Las pruebas de calidad de la crema permiten establecer las especificaciones del producto que cumplan con las normas cubanas para esos fines.  Conclusiones: La crema exfoliante elaborada siguiendo los procedimientos de Suchel Camacho con el aceite obtenido y cáscara de las mencionadas semillas presenta índices de calidad similares a productos comerciales.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  Introduction: Moringa oleifera is an India native oleaginous plant. Its seed has a high quality, due to its behenic acid and oleic acid content, and its polyunsaturated low level, it becomes an excellent base for cosmetic industry. The peel that is discarded is rich in elements, so these particles included in cosmetic, will &#8220;scratch&#8221; eliminating dead cells formed layer.  Objective: To elaborate a new cosmetic product with exfoliating characteristics using Moringa oleifera ecotype Plain seeds oil and peel.  Materials and methods: Moringa ecotype Plain seed oil extraction is mechanically performed. Vegetable oil main indices, as well as its fatty acids composition are determined. Shell composition is determined using quantitative methods.  Results and Discussion: Moringa oleifera ecotype Plain oil was obtained with 23% yield based on dry seed mass. Indices that characterize a vegetable oil have similar values to those reported were determined. Peel is characterized and exfoliating cream is made with seeds peel and oil. Exfoliating cream quality tests allow to establish product specifications that comply with Cuban standards for these purposes.  Conclusions: The exfoliating cream made following Suchel Camacho's procedures with the oil obtained and the peel of the aforementioned seeds presents quality indexes similar to commercial products.]]></p></abstract>
