Se efectuaron experimentos de caída de presión en un tramo recto de tubería horizontal con el fin de validar el modelo. Como principales resultados se obtiene un nuevo modelo de gradiente de presión teórico para tuberías cilíndricas y horizontales, en régimen de flujo laminar, con un comportamiento reológico Herschel-Bulkley del fluido; el porcentaje de error no supera el 0,98 %, siendo más preciso tomando como referencia los resultados reportados en la literatura técnica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ ABSTRACT In the present work a study is carried out to validate a new pressure gradient model using a semi-industrial hydrotransport facility, with the use of crude lateritic slurry at a temperature of 27 ºC and a concentration of solids by weight of 41,93%. Pressure drop experiments were carried out in a straight section of horizontal pipe in order to validate the model. As main results, a new theoretical pressure gradient model is obtained for cylindrical and horizontal pipes, in laminar flow regime, with a Herschel-Bulkley rheological behavior of the fluid; the error percentage does not exceed 0,98%, being more precise taking as reference the results reported in technical literature.]]></p></abstract>
