El análisis de las imágenes de microarreglos es una de las herramientas necesarias para evaluar gran cantidad de datos biológicos simultáneamente. El presente trabajo propone un software de procesamiento de imágenes de microarreglos como parte de un ensayo para el diagnóstico molecular de la Fibrosis Quística, que permitirá identificar las mutaciones, más frecuentes en Cuba y América Latina, del gen. Este software consta de tres etapas: pre-procesamiento y grillado, segmentación y extracción de características. Las pruebas funcionales realizadas con un conjunto de imágenes obtenidas de diversos ensayos avalan el correcto funcionamiento del software para el diagnóstico de esta enfermedad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Microarray technology has increased exponentially in the last years, being very used to quantify gene expression levels. Microarray image analysis is one of the necessary tools to evaluate vast amount of biological data simultaneously. This work proposes an image processing software like part of an experiment for molecular diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis, which will identify the mutations, more frequent in Cuba and Latin America, of the Cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator. This software consists of three stages: pre-processing and gridding, segmentation and feature extraction. The functional tests carried out with a group of images obtained from diverse diagnostic experiments; they endorse the correct operation of the software for disease diagnosis.]]></p></abstract>
