The papers are reviewed by an Editorial Board according to the specific topic of the article. Arbitration is carried out “double blind” by specialists from different national and international institutions. The Editorial Board reserves the rights for selection and publication, and will decide the suitable modifications and adaptations. Authors, in all cases, will be informed about the decisions taken by the Board. When receiving the technical suggestions, authors have 30 days to make arrangements. After completing modifications by the authors, in electronic format a new version must be sent for final editing. This Journal publishes novel articles related to Biochemistry, Milk hygiene, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Parasitology, Pathology, Quality, Clinical trials, Epizootiology, Pharmacology, Genetics, Animal reproduction, Toxicology, Zoohygiene, Immunology, Biomodels and Production processes. It is aimed at professionals and technicians in the field of veterinary medicine and related sciences. The results are published in different formats: Original Article, Short Communication, Letter to the Editor, Review Article and Technical Note, including also announcements of scientific-technical events, educational activities, products of veterinary interest and services. Form and preparation of manuscripts
Original article: Title, its length should not exceed 15 words, preferably using scientific names of species. It should be written in Spanish and English. Authors, full name, indicating complete mailing address and highlighting all the corresponding authors. Abstract–Resumen, in 250 words expressing the problem, objectives, methods, results and conclusions. Keywords-Palabras clave should be from 3-6. Introduction should define the nature and scope of the problem researched; citing the most significant papers related thereto; clearly defining the purpose of the research. Materials and Methods specify the quantity and quality of materials. Methods should be described briefly to allow others to reproduce the experiments. It is advisable to sort by location, treatments, experimental design, variables analyzed and statistical processing. Results, presented better in a logical way than in a chronological one; reflecting the most important results of the experiments on the basis of statistical analysis with the help of tables and/or figures for representation. It is recommended to highlight the negative aspects observed in order to alert other researchers. Discussion states the implications of the findings and relates them to the most important issues in the subject on the basis of the results obtained in response to the hypothesis originated by the research; arguing without repeating the information given and citing tables and figures. If necessary, in the conclusions, summarize the new knowledge acquired, as a final paragraph in the discussion, expressing them in a direct and simple way; they must be based on the data provided on the paper. Thanks, highlighting names of persons or organizations whose contribution was a key to the research. References should use the Vancouver style; they should be numbered consecutively, following the order in which they are first mentioned in the text and will be identified with an Arabic numeral between parentheses; the 50% of them should be in the last five years. The titles of journals should be abbreviated according to Index Medicus style. This list is available at: http://www.nlm.nih.gov. If there are more than six authors, list the first six followed by et al. Figures and Tables, with titles in Spanish and English; when Figures are cited in the text, use the abbreviations Fig.; they should be self-explicative and you can add details at the bottom of them explaining how the values shown were obtained. Do not overload with too much information, symbols or columns. Tables should be drawn up in the form of tables with data per cell (with no spaces or tab-spacebar) and horizontal lines only. Send digital images (.jpg or. tif) with a resolution >300 dpi at the final print size. Indicate increased drawings and photomicrographs integers, the latter must have some mark (arrow or point) to show the essential details.
Short communication: It is the format recommended for the presentation of concrete data, descriptions, among others, that does not justify a full article. It has the same organization of an original article, but without separating into sections (except the References). Do not exceed four printed pages, including text, tables, illustrations and references.
Letter to the editor: Format with two modalities, one suitable for the notifications of specific results and findings in a quickly way. It must be written in English and not exceed 1 sheet. In the findings, refer grosso modo their significance, date. Authors and respective affiliations at the end of the text. On the other hand, it is also a forum for a scientific debate, opinions on trends and points of view; in this case, it has no space limit and can be written in Spanish. In both cases, the section for references is not present; they most be cited in a footnote (author, year, title, name of the publication and pages). It is a format with few references.
Review: Present a critical appraisal of a problem based on the most recent literature, it is not a merely literature review. It may contain previously unpublished results of the own author. It is recommended that the review has the following parts: Introduction, Special part (topics in logical order), Conclusions (required) and References (at least 35). It will stretch about 15 printed pages, including Tables, Figures and References.
Technical note: It should include: Title, Abstract/Resumen, and Keywords/Palabras clave. Presentation on technical aspects without a detailed treatment such as technological changes, new methods, research data or observations, among others. References should also be included. Papers are published at no cost for authors in Spanish or in English. The Journal reserves the rights doe selection and publication. |
