Abstract
DANIEL SIMON, Ramón; MOYA DUQUE, Sonia and ABREU GARCIA, Marlén. Cromomicosis: Hongos dematiáceos que intervienen en su etiología. Rev cubana med [online]. 1998, vol.37, n.3, pp. 136-140. ISSN 1561-302X.
A mycological examination was made to 49 patients with the presumptive clinical diagnosis of chromycosis that attended the Mycology Laboratory of the Dermatology Service of the "Carlos J. Finlay" Military Central Hospital for a period of 8 years. The objective of this test was to identify the commonest Dematiaceae fungi that cause chromycosis, to classify them into genus and species, and to determine the most frequent localizations, sex, age and occupation of these patients. The laboratory diagnosis was confirmed in 29 patients, the lower limbs proved to be the most general localization, and the Fonsecaea pedrosoi was the most frequently isolated Dematiceae fungus.
