Cuban nickel production is an important source of income, and offers jobs for a large number of people living in the municipality of Moa, province of Holguín, where nickel is mined. A large number of experts on that, huge nickel reserves, and many uses and applications of nickel are the potential that Cuba should develop for making the nickel industry sustainable. This paper presents a strategy for achieving sustainability of this industry, by allowing residents in Moa to take an active part therein.
