Abstract

FERNANDEZ BATISTA, Fabio E.. Moreno Fraginals in the Spain of Don Quixote. UH [online]. 2015, n.280, pp. 16-22. ISSN 0253-9276.

The article examines the considerations of Manuel Moreno Fraginals in reference to the Spanish Golden Century. From the premise of cultural history and Marxism, the outstanding Cuban historian analyzed the evolution of Scholastics, the Spanish language and the Baroque period during the two first centuries of modernity. Using renewing approaches, Moreno questioned several recurrent topics dedicated to imperial Spain. Fraginals' considerations show the potentials of historical science to take over the investigation of cultural processes.

Keywords : Cuban historiography; Golden Century; history of Spain; Barroque.
