Abstract

LOPEZ CIVEIRA, Francisca. Cervantes in Carpentier: a look from the university classrooms. UH [online]. 2015, n.280, pp. 69-74. ISSN 0253-9276.

The present work analyzes the presence of Cervantes, and especially his masterpiece and his character, Don Quixote, among Cuban intellectuals, particularly in Alejo Carpentier, as from his lectures in the University of Havana during the 1960s. Since the then notes taken in class, his explanations, appreciations, and assessments are re-taken, all of which evidences a great admiration, and, in a way, the incorporation of some of the novel's awns in Carpentier's plays.
