A new pattern of rising/falling (circumflex) final intonation was perceptive, semantical and acoustical established in a sample of news broadcasted by the Noticiero Nacional de Televisión (Cuban National TV News). The pattern was acoustically described, and some of its roles in news as discourse were examined.
