Abstract

This paper presents the synopsis of a project that was put into practice at the physician office of the "José Martí" Basic Secondary School, in "Centro Habana" municipality. Its is a participative- action- research that has as a general objective to increase the quality of the comprehensive promotion of reproductive health and as specific objectives the following: to influence on the improvement of the sexual behavior of this school population, to prepare them for the prevention of the infection caused by HIV/AIDS and of the sexually transmitted diseases (STD), to instruct them on family planning, looking for the prevention of undesired pregnancies among the young couples. As a method it is proposed to carry out a preliminary investigation to inquire about the knowledge, interests, needs, attitudes and behaviors of these young students and to program specific educative interventions to turn them into health promoters and to project activities about their family, other groups of students, young people and community in general. With the assistance of the school physician and nurse, the local health authorities, and the participating professors and students, together with the counseling of national specialized institutions, it is pretended to use this physician office as a reference center to multiply the experience of this multidisciplinary and intersectorial preventive working style in the health sphere.
