Abstract
GONZALEZ GARCIA, Alberto O; ORTIZ GONZALEZ, Elier; SANTIESTEBAN FREIXAS, Rosaralis and MENDOZA SANTIESTEBAN, Carlos E. Value of the pattern electroretinogram and of the retinocortical time in the early diagnosis of glaucomatous neuropathy. Rev Cubana Oftalmol [online]. 2005, vol.18, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3070.
A descriptive study was conducted among 60 subjects that were divided into 2 groups. 30 patients that were diagnosed chronic open angle glaucoma (cases), and the other group that was composed of 30 apparently sound inidividuals (control). Both groups underwent pattern electroretinogram and visual evoked potentials. The most significant differences were the latencies of N95 with 99.7 and 1124 ms in the control and case groups, respectively. The amplitudes of N95 had an average of 5.38 and 1.95 microvolts in the control and case groups, respectively, of both variables of the pattern electroretinogram, where it was proved that it is an important and very valuable element for the early diagnosis of glaucoma
