Abstract
CASTRO, Rosa et al. Effect of an ecuadorian strain of Trichoderma harzianum Rifai as an antagonist of Mycosphaerella fijiensis Morelet under greenhouse conditions. Rev. Protección Veg. [online]. 2015, vol.30, n.2, pp. 133-138. ISSN 2224-4697.
The effect of a native strain of Trichoderma harzianum Rifai on the development of black Sigatoka (Mycosphaerella fijiensis Morelet) artificially inoculated in banana plants cv. `Williams' (Musa AAA) was determined in a greenhouse. It was shown that the foliar application of this native Ecuadorian strain of T. harzianum caused changes in the evolution of symptoms and in the variables evaluated. The incubation period and the symptom evolution time and disease development time became longer. The infection index and the state of symptom average decreased. Effectiveness after sixty- four days of the inoculation was 68.8%. The results showed the capability of the native Ecuadorian strain of T. harzianum CCECH-p1 as an antagonist of M. fijiensis under greenhouse conditions.
