BARRIOS GONZALEZ, Irisel; MAURENZA GONZALEZ, Godofredo; RIVERO SANCHEZ, Miguel and RODRIGUEZ PARGAS, Aymara. Respiratory rehabilitation in asthamatic patients. AMC [online]. 2000, vol.4, n.3, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1025-0255.
An intervention study was performed for knowing the repercussion of the respiratory rehabilitating treatment in asthmatic patients in two health clinics of Carlos Juan Finlay Communitary Polyclinic of Camaguey from January 1997 to January 1998. The study universe was composed of 70 patients registered as Grade II and III Asthmatics in the said health clinic. These patients received a respiratory rehabilitating program during one year including relaxation and respiratory exercises. The spirometric test was carried out at the beginning and at the end of the intervention. All spirometric parameters increased their scores, so the forced expiratory volume in one second was the parameter in which greater changes were observed. Moreover, there was a reduction in the number of asthma crises.
