Abstract

A descriptive study in hypertensión patients with ischemic cardiopathies admitted at Manuel Ascunce Domenech Provincial Hospital of Camaguey within the period fromo july 1998 both included, was carried out .As to the blood pressure (BP) moderate was higher prevailing in the femenine sex in 28 patients (28%) (R< 0, 05); it was observed that in the 65 years gruop and over; there was prevalence in white skin patients (66 %) the clinical form of ischemic cardiopathy more related to BP was that of angina pectoris with 62 patients. The pharmacologic treatment most used was anticalcium (nifedipine) n 79 patients; betablockers were of higher performances and were used 35 times, which permited the control of 25 patients (71, 4 %) (P<0, 05); the most frequent complications were the encephalic vascular accidents, only four patients died.
