Abstract

RODRIGUEZ BETANCOURT, Marco; CEDENO DONET, Marisel; PERAZA MORELLE, Dayamí  and  PERAZA MORELLE, Reina. Sexually transmitted infections in adolescents: in Céspedes municipality. AMC [online]. 2004, vol.8, n.6, pp. 103-110. ISSN 1025-0255.

A descriptive, cross-sectional study about sexually transmitted infections behavior in adolescents of this municipality was carried out, from January 2000 to September 2002; for the performance of it, epidemiologic surveys of the department of control of transmissible disease were used. Thirthy-four patients out of 80 were adolescents (42, 5 %), the 58, 8 % belonged to feminine sex, 26, 4 % were 17 years old, but 17, 7 % were 12 to 14 years; the total of them began their  sexual relationship before 14, 35, 3 % sufferred blenorrahage with significance (P=0.003), Human Papiloma Virus with 20, 6 %. There was a prevalence of feminine sex over masculine, 17 years old was the most frequent. The early sexual beginning was seen in all patients, blenorrahage and viral infections were the most frequent.
